Michael Gill works as a freelance consultant.


Michael Gill works since 2009 as a freelance consultant. He supports well-known clients in realizing business intelligence solutions, primarily, but not exclusive as specialist for MicroStrategy (MicroStrategy Certified Engineering Principal, MCEP). Between 2001 and 2009, he has worked for a software start-up supporting the company in setting up the development, product management and marketing organization. Before he worked four years as a consultant for MicroStrategy Germany. Michael holds the degree of a Diplom-Informatiker (FH).

IBCS® Certified Consultant

Michael Gill has successfully completed the IBCS® certification for successful design of reports and presentations at the HICHERT+FAISST IBCS Institute in October 2015.


BARC Best Practice Award 2019

The Customer Insights Portal of the multi-channel beauty retailer DOUGLAS, co-designed by Michael Gill, is the winner of the renowned BARC Best Practice Awards for Business Intelligence and Analytics in the category Group in 2019. The information design was implemented according to the International Business Communication Standards (IBCS). Thus, a consistent navigation and notation concept ensures easy use and quick readability of the analyses. The high level of information density allows the integration of previous year and benchmark views, so that users always have a comprehensive presentation of every question at a glance.

It was important to us that the Customer Insights Portal provides our internal and external stakeholders with meaningful analyses, e.g. on customer profiles and buying behavior of our customers. From a technical perspective, the concept should be efficiently implementable on the existing MicroStrategy platform. Working with Mr. Gill, all our goals were considered and perfectly implemented.
